Voyageurs National Park

Voyageurs National Park is a park in the north of the state of Minnesota, in a region bordering Canada, embracing lakes both large and small. With waterways tangled like a net, it is like a country of water that can only be properly explored by traveling by boat and canoe.

This land of water was designated a nationally protected site on January 8, 1971, and became a national park. The park’s name, ‘Voyageur,’ refers to the boatmen who once carried furs along these waterways.
